Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said, the country has come out of the mentality of slavery now and India is marching towards its heritage with a sense of pride by embracing Panch Pran. The Prime Minister was speaking at Sant Mirabai Janmotsav in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The program was organised to celebrate the 525th Birth Anniversary of Sant Mirabai.
Recalling the teachings of Sant Mirabai, the Prime Minister said, she taught the principles of devotion and spirituality in easy language. He said, a saint like Mirabai showed that a woman’s self-confidence has the power to give direction to the entire world. He termed Mirabai a pioneer and social reformer saying that she taught the people to stick with their culture. He said, India has always been a country that worships women’s power and women have always given direction to the society.
